Where a long day at the desk shows up
These are common for people who sit for work. A visit starts with your history and an exam, and your doctor explains what was found and what the options are.
Shoulders that creep toward your ears
Hours at a keyboard can leave your shoulders and upper back tight by mid-afternoon.
A neck that feels stiff by evening
Looking at a monitor or a phone for long stretches can leave your neck tired.
A lower back that complains when you stand
Long stretches of sitting can leave you stiff when you finally get up.
Tired hands and wrists
Mouse and keyboard work can leave your forearms and wrists feeling worn out.
Tension that comes home with you
Stress often shows up in the body, and some people find it hard to switch off after work.
Sleep that does not come easily
After a tense day, some people have trouble getting comfortable at night.

Services
Care that fits a desk-bound week
Each kind of care is explained before it starts, and you decide which parts you want.
Spinal adjustment
A hands-on movement your chiropractor applies to a joint of the spine. Your doctor explains the risks and what you may feel before the first one, and you can ask to stop at any time.
Myofascial release
Slow, steady pressure on muscle and the tissue around it, usually alongside other care.
Corrective exercises
Movements and stretches your doctor chooses for you, with a sheet to follow at home or at your desk.
Joint and nerve mobilization
Gentle, repeated movement of a joint, or of the tissue around a nerve, to help you move more easily.
Sports and active care
Plans for people who run, lift or play, built around your activity and your schedule.
Chiropractic care does not replace medical care. Results vary from person to person.

About us
A chiropractor who listens first
Coil Chiropractic is led by Dr. Tomoko Yamaguchi, a chiropractor who combines spinal adjustments with soft tissue work and movement exercises. Many of the people we see work at a desk, so each visit starts with how you sit, move and sleep.
She explains what she finds, what the options are and what the risks of each are, and you decide what happens next. Our practice is small, so the front desk and the treatment room know you by name.
Your doctor explains first
Findings, options and risks, before anything is done.
Care built around your day
Your work, your sleep and your stress are part of the conversation.
Adjustments and soft tissue work
Used together only where they suit you.

FAQ
Common questions
Answers to what people ask before a first visit.
01What happens at my first visit?
You talk with your doctor about your history, your work and what you want from care. Then you have an exam, hear what was found and what the options are, and decide what happens next. Plan on 45 to 60 minutes. Treatment starts that day only if you agree.
02What are the risks of an adjustment?
Most people have no problem, and some feel sore or tired for a day or so afterward. Rarely, serious problems have been reported, including nerve or disc injury and stroke after neck manipulation. Your doctor explains the risks and your options before treating, and you can say no to any part of care. If you have a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, or chest pain, call 911 or see a physician before you book.
03Will it hurt?
Most people feel pressure, stretching or a quick movement. Some are sore afterward, as after exercise. Tell your doctor if anything is uncomfortable and they will change what they do or stop. Low-force options are available.
04How many visits will I need?
Your doctor sets a plan with you after the exam and reviews it as you go. We cannot say in advance how many visits you will need, and you can change or stop the plan at any time.
05Do you take my insurance?
We bill some PPO plans and some employer plans. What a plan pays for chiropractic visits differs from plan to plan, so the front desk checks yours before your first visit. Our How fees work page has the details.
06What if I do not use insurance?
If you do not use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. We give you a written estimate in advance, before your first visit, and the front desk can give you our fee list.
